The Mahoning County Sheriff is pleased to announce a new program titled “HOMESAFE”.  HOMESAFE is a database operated by Sheriff’s Office personnel where pertinent information on our community’s most vulnerable and at-risk citizens, such as children with autism, who may be deaf or blind or who may have other developmental disabilities or the elderly who  may suffer from Alzheimer’s or dementia, will be kept in the event that they go missing.  Parents, children or others who are responsible for these special individuals will be able to fill out this form and either have the individual’s pictures taken at the Mahoning County Justice Center or mail the form in following the instructions at the bottom of the form.

The database will have their names, photos, their personal information, the type of disability they suffer from, any medications they may be taking and other pertinent information necessary, such as emergency contacts, should they ever go missing.

HOMESAFE is a database that is restricted to law enforcement only.

We are formally launching this program this week at the 2013 Canfield Fair from 1PM until 4PM everyday, where we will begin to accept forms and will be taking photos.  After the fair, you will be able to go to the Mahoning County Justice Center where our staff will assist you.
